“This is Vice Director Huo, she’s a doctor of authority,” the nurse introduced.

The old woman looked slightly more pleased when she heard that Huo Mian was the vice director.

“Since you’re the vice director, get my daughter-in-law into a delivery room right now. I want my grandson to be delivered as soon as possible,” the old woman ordered.

Huo Mian paid her no mind, she approached the bed and looked at the woman in delivery.

Her face was pale and her head was dripping with sweat. She didn’t seem very conscious, her contractions were too severe.

Huo Mian felt her forehead. Luckily, she didn’t have a fever.

She observed her heart rate and blood pressure and found that it was going up.

“Are you okay?” Huo Mian held the woman’s hand and softly asked.

The woman slowly opened her eyes, looked at Huo Mian, and nodded with difficulty. She seemed to be unable to speak.

“You don’t need to say anything, just listen to me. You’re in a dangerous situation, our diagnostics showed that the fetus is misaligned and oversized. You’ll be in fatal danger if you want to deliver naturally. You won’t be the only one in danger too, the baby may choke during the birthing procedure. We want to give you a cesarean section, but your family won’t sign. So, I am asking you. If you agree, we will put you through the procedure right away. If you still want to deliver naturally, you have to handle all the consequences. I’ll give you a minute to think. If you agree to the C-section, then nod.”

Before she could say anything, her mother-in-law blew up.

“What do you think you are doing? We said no surgery. You guys just want to scam us out of our money. It’s so many times more expensive than natural birth. Don’t you dare touch her, you’re trying to scam us, you heartless doctors! We want a natural birth.”

“Judging by her current condition, a natural delivery will put her life in grave danger,” Huo Mian explained.

“Don’t scare me, that’s just a fancy way of saying you guys aren’t good enough. If you don’t do it, we’ll go to another hospital. Don’t try to trick us, you guys really have no morals.”

“If you transfer, both the mother and the child will be in mortal danger,” Huo Mian said.

“I don’t believe you. Son, call a cab. We’re leaving,” the old woman seemed furious and yelled at her son.

That man was six feet tall, but he looked like a mommy’s boy and had no ideas of his own. He listened to everything his mother said.

Huo Mian didn’t pay any more attention to them and approached the woman again. “Have you made up your mind? You have to choose for the life of you and your child. Your mother-in-law wants to transfer you. If anything happens to you during the transit, nobody can save you, Don’t let their ignorance put you and your innocent child in danger.”

Huo Mian’s words seemed to move the pregnant woman. Finally, she nodded.

“Are you agreeing to the procedure?” Huo Mian asked.

The woman nodded again.

“Xiaolin, get out the disclosure form, she is going to sign herself.”

“Okay, Vice Director.”

“How dare you? If you perform the surgery, I will sue you until this hospital shuts down from bankruptcy…” the ignorant old woman blocked the nurse.

“Xiaorong, notify Doctor Zhao to prepare for surgery. I am wheeling her there myself.”

“Okay, Vice Director.”

“Why are you still standing here? Go and stop that woman…” the old woman was agitated and yelled at her son.

He finally snapped out of it and stopped Huo Mian, not letting her go.

“What you are doing right now will kill your wife and child, do you know that?” Huo Mian coldly asked.
