SPOILED GIRL

 Season 7

Episode 59

(Your sister)

The lights were not on and the room was plunged into darkness.

Emily was encircled in Jacob's arms. She raised her eyes and was stunned by his stare. His eyes seemed filled with a thousand stars and she could not tear away her gaze.

She was vaguely aware that something had changed. It was strange.

"Seventh, it's late. Why are you still awake?" she asked, swallowing as she realized how dry her throat had become.
Feeling slightly uncomfortable she pushed him away.

Jacob turned on the light and looked at her. She wore a thin dress, revealing her white arms and legs, while also exuding the temptation of innocence behind the gossamer fabric.

His eyes darkened, "I can't sleep."

"You can't sleep, too? That's great." Emily thought that since he was awake, her presence wouldn't been regarded as an interruption. "Let's talk, shall we?"

"Okay!" Jacob naturally met her request. Absently he took a soft blanket and draped it about her shoulders. "It's cold at night."

She did not refuse his kindness and thanked him.

They sat together on the balcony and looked up at the stars. The atmosphere was quiet. It was as if the world only consisted of the two of them, the balcony, and the stars. Emily's mind was still confused by the dream, and she did not know how to start. Sadly, she did not notice that Jacob was staring at her.    His eyes were tender as moonlight, with a hidden, deep love.

He thought that if Beryl could be there, they would be reunited.

If Beryl knew that her mother was still alive, would she be happy?

Emily did not know what Jacob was thinking about just then. But after a long period of psychological construction, she began to ask, "Yesterday, when we were in the orchard, you said you dreamed about your past. You haven't finished telling me about it yet. Why don't you go on now?"

She did not tell him about her dream because she wanted to prove something, something magical and weird.

Jacob agreed and continued his story.    Upon hearing the later part of the story, Emily's face changed.

Because what he related was exactly the same as what she had dreamed of! 'How come? Could he foresee my dream in advance? Was it really just a coincidence?' her mind raced in circles as questions dashed about like loosed pigeons.

Emily felt as if she had grasped an important thread. If it were further pulled, all the facts would come out like sea water, like a rushing tide that could not be stopped.

Had she really forgotten something important?

But all of the dream could not be true! Jacob was in his late twenties, and she was only eighteen years old. How could she have known him before and had children with him?

What was going on?

She must try to figure it out!

They talked until daybreak, when Emily finally began struggling against sleep.

She yawned, her beautiful eyes covering over with a layer of watery mist.

"Go to sleep,"  he urged softly. Jacob felt bad when he saw Emily's red eyes. If he had known the result of their lengthy talk, he would not have indulged her.

"Oh." Emily felt really sleepy, and like a child she asked Jacob, "Will you take me to bed?"

He halted briefly. The emotion in his eyes upsurged, but eventually returned to quiet. He agreed and took her in his arms. Gently he picked her up.

She felt that he was being exceptionally gentle today, as if he was no longer the self-willed child, but a mature, steady, considerate and gentle man.

When he laid her down on the bed, she suddenly reacted and jumped up saying, "No. I can't sleep in your room. My brother will misunderstand!"

Sean would break Jacob's leg if he really saw them together.

Jacob was still trying to say something when she dashed to the door like a rabbit. As soon as she opened it, she suddenly froze, standing stiff as a statue.

Sean stood in the doorway, and he was trying to open the door. When he saw Emily, his face clouded over like a thunderstorm.

"Cloris, why are you in his room?"

Sean's voice was still soft, but Emily felt cold all over. She wanted to explain, but Jacob suddenly came forward and pulled her from behind.

"Do not bully my sister!" he assumed a whining tone to keep his ruse in place.

Jacob pulled his face to look like a fool.

Sean sneered, "Your sister? She is my sister! Cloris, come here."

Emily looked at Sean and saw that he was really angry. Then she looked at Jacob subconsciously and saw that his eyes were drooping. She guessed that maybe he was frightened.

So she comforted Jacob in a low voice, "Don't worry. It's all right. I'll explain it to my brother."

Jacob did not want to make her worry. So he whispered "Hmm" and watched her walking towards Sean.

Unconsciously, his fists slowly clenched at his sides, and he had to fight at the violent thoughts that reared up in his mind. Now was not the time.

Sean would have liked to have Jacob drawn and quartered on the spot, but considering Emily was there, he could not do so. It would destroy the trust he had at long last built with her.

At this moment, Jacob could not have an accident. It would be too suspicious.

So Sean just glared at him coldly and then led Emily out of his room. After they returned to Emily's room, Sean began to question her.

"As a girl, why would you go to a man's room?"

"Brother! What are you talking about?"

She could not help wrinkling her eyebrows at the thought. "Seventh is just a kid. He doesn't understand anything at all."

Sean was very clear whether Jacob understood or not, but he couldn't tell Emily that. So he struggled angrily, and finally threatened, "If you dare to do such a thing again in the future, you will not be allowed to go out any more!"

"You are so domineering!" Emily was dissatisfied with Sean's show of strength. "I once slept in your bed. How is this any different? Seventh and I were just sitting and chatting together on the balcony. It is your impure thoughts that should be blamed!"

"It's not the same thing. I am your brother!" he tried to explain, but failed dismally.

"Seventh is my little brother as well!" she retorted.

Sean's pupils shrank and the muscles in his forehead began to jump convulsively.

"He's not related to you, you know?

Cloris, can you please be good and not make me worry about you anymore? Do you think that you did the right thing?" he pleaded.

Looking at Sean's fierce eyes, Emily felt extremely guilty. It was as if she had done something terribly wrong. She finally softened her voice. "Well, I know It's my fault. I won't do that again..."

Her cute expression made Sean's heart soften at once. How could he still be angry with her? In fact, it was Jacob who should be blamed! How dare he seduce Emily!

"So why did you go to his room in the middle of the night?"

Emily immediately passed the buck and said, "The reason why I was there is because of that dream..."

Sean was momentarily surprised. "What dream?"

Emily unreservedly told her brother the original story. What was more, she even wanted to analyze it with him. "It is weird. Don't you think so? How can I have the same dream as Seventh? Maybe we really were a couple in a past life?" she pondered aloud.

Her referring to them being a couple was a joke, but it hurt Sean's fragile nerves all of a sudden, and caused him a great alarm that lanced his heart!
