 Season 7

Episode 56

(She's Emily)

Jacob's missing incident was already over and solved, but Emily could not shake off the feeling that somehow something similar might happen again.

She worried too much for Jacob to the point that she refused to let him out of her sight.

Jacob found no issue in this. He actually preferred to spend time with Emily. Being with Emily made Jacob happy, but it displeased Sean to the core.

Sean became more intimidating and unapproachable. Nobody in the mansion wanted to come in contact with him.

They all avoided talking to him. Everyone worried that he would lash out his anger on them.

All the house helpers and bodyguards were careful around Sean. They watched every action and every word they uttered around him for the fear of accidentally irritating him.

The only ones who were carefree around the mansion were Jacob and Emily. They spent all their time together and neither of them seemed to have detected the change in Sean.

From time to time, Emily would occasionally ask Jacob on what he remembered about the day he went missing. But he never answered her directly. He often dodged her questions.

Emily then pressed him for more details and Jacob eventually complained. He said he got a headache whenever he thought about it. So Emily stopped badgering him with questions and let it rest.

She did not want to cause Jacob's headaches. But one day, Jacob suddenly turned serious and asked her, "Sis, what if I told you that Mr. Sean tried to put me in danger? Will you believe me?"

Emily's ear flared up with what she heard. She faced Jacob, and her brow creased. She was positive that someone put him to this. She knew Jacob would never say this otherwise. She retorted back, "Who told you to say this? Who?"

Jacob shook his head vehemently and answered, "No one! I promise!"

Emily held Jacob's face and peered into his eyes. "I don't know who told you this or who instructed you to say such a hideous thing. I don't care. But I guarantee you that my brother would not do such a thing."

Emily found it hard to believe that Sean would want to hurt Jacob. She could not even think of a reason he would do so.

After all, they had never even met before all this.

Jacob silently observed Emily's reaction to this. Then he sheepishly answered, "Hey, I was just kidding."

"Never do that again! Okay?" She reached out her hand and stroked Jacob's forehead, with concern etched on her face. "Are you feeling okay? You look sick. What are you feeling? Stay here. I will call Sean so he could check on you."

"No! Don't!" Jacob suddenly sounded terrified. He held Emily by the waist and exclaimed, "It's okay. I'm fine! I just feel a little cold."

Emily stroked Jacob's hair and said, "Okay, let's go and have some rest."

Emily was not surprised with how nervous Jacob looked at the mention of Sean. He was just like a child now. She knew how most children felt scared when they heard they were going to meet with a doctor. 'Hopefully his fear of Sean will go away when he regains his lost memories, ' Emily thought to herself.

Sean caught a glimpse of the intimacy that was going on between Emily and Jacob. His blood boiled at the mere sight of them together. The unfortunate flower in front of him became the receiving end of Sean's anger as he tore it to pieces.

Sean felt that Jacob might have already remembered everything.

That had to be it. Otherwise, how would an idiot like Jacob escape the swamp on his own? Plus ever since he came back from the mud, he had always trailed behind Emily. He manipulated her into spending all her time with him. And this infuriated Sean so bad.

Sean could no longer take this.

He had to do something or else he would go crazy thinking about it.

Soon, the light faded as the sun set. The night took a quick turn and then it was time for bed. The whole mansion was silent.

The moment Emily fell into a deep sleep, Sean instructed his subordinates to take Jacob out of her room. But they had to be careful not to wake her.

They took Jacob from Emily's room and brought him in front of Sean. Jacob looked up and with confusion he uttered, "Yes, Mr. Sean? Did you want to see me?"

Sean's sharp eyes focused on Jacob.

Without batting away, he answered, "Yes, I did. I noticed how you always follow my little sister around recently. Is this correct?"

Jacob answered without hesitation, "Yes, we're always together. What's wrong with that? She likes my company and I happen to like hers, as well."

"But I don't like that,"  Sean answered, as his strong gaze still fixated on Jacob.

Jacob wasn't fazed or swayed by Sean's attitude. He kept his eyes on him.

"Never mind!" Sean was frustrated. All too sudden, Sean's face relaxed. He called on his subordinate and whispered an order. After a while, the subordinate came back and handed Sean a bottle.

Sean took it and looked at Jacob who looked like a little boy. Then he shrugged and said, "You will not think about it this way after you remember everything. This is one of my newly developed medicine.

When you eat it, you will find a surprise waiting for you."

Sean opened the bottle and took out a couple of white pills. He handed them to Jacob who was looking at the bottle defiantly. Jacob's face gave off an air of vigilance, but answered Sean with a naive look, "Really? These pills will help me remember everything?"

Sean closely observed Jacob's reactions and facial expressions. He replied, "Yes! Of course! You will also be so much wiser after you take this pill."

Jacob looked serious as he retorted, "But what if I don't want to regain all my memories? I don't think I'd take this pill."

"But this is my little sister's wish. She wants you to remember everything. And as her old brother, I'd gladly assist to help fulfill her wish." Sean prodded on with a wicked smile, "Come on! You're willing to do whatever my little sister wants, right? So take this!"

Jacob suddenly sneered. The childish look vanished in Jacob's eyes, but his cold and sharp look came back. "Hmp! Nice try, Sean!"

"I knew it!!!" Sean squinted at Jacob, as danger sparkled in his eyes. "You have been pretending. You pretended not to remember anything! You have been lying to Cloris."

With nothing held back anymore, Jacob did not want to deny nor waste time to pretend it. He decidedly told Sean, "She is not Cloris. She is Emily. She is the woman I love and she is my wife."

"Emily's long dead!" Sean screamed.

"She is my Cloris! Nobody has the right to take her away from me."

"No! That would be unfair for her. You're being ridiculous." Jacob had no plans of wasting his time arguing with a lunatic like Sean.

Sean turned to Jacob and asked, "So, when did you regain your memories?"

Jacob did not mind whether or not Sean found out the truth. "The moment you pushed me into the pond, my head got knocked. And I remembered everything after that."

"Well that was earlier than my expectations." Sean sneered, "So that explains why you were able to get out of the swamp."

'I wonder if he fell into my trap on purpose then?' Sean pondered.

"Hmm. Let me guess,"  Jacob said, as he looked at the pills. Darkness filled his eyes. He quietly asked, "What's this? Poison? Or could it be drugs?"

Sean wasn't fazed by Jacob. He answered calmly, "I thought nothing could scare you, Jacob. Turns out you're afraid of death, as well. If it weren't for this pill, how long would you have pretended in front of Cloris? You're going to pay for what you did! You're going to pay for all your lies!"

Sean turned to his bodyguards and signaled a gesture. They all approached Jacob and gripped him by the arms.

Jacob was caught by surprise. He wasn't able to fight back. All he could do was to clench his lips and snarl at them.

He thought of the probability of how he would defeat all of them.

"You would never get away with it this time!" The demon deep inside Sean snarled. He slowly approached Jacob, looked at him with vicious eyes, and said, "Enjoy the surprise I prepared for you, Jacob!"

Jacob tried to get away, but he was unable to move under their grip. Sean took the pills and walked back to Jacob.

He used his free hand and clenched Jacob's cheeks to forcefully open his mouth.

Jacob aggressively kept turning his head to avoid Sean.

But Sean was too quick. He had almost placed the pill inside Jacob's mouth. The latter kept on struggling to break out.

Suddenly, an unexpected person entered the room.

"What's going on? What are you doing to him?" Emily exclaimed. She was shocked and confused with what she saw.

Nobody knew she was awake nor did anyone heard her approach.

Everyone froze. No one knew what to do. They dared not to move a muscle.

Why is she here? How long has she been awake? What did she see? What did she hear?
