 Season 7

Episode 37

(Morning princess)

"I beg your pardon, Mr. Jacob,"  Vedder said as he pointed to the picture on the table. A odd smile appeared on his face, and he continued, "Who is this lady?"

A hint of affection flashed on Jacob's cold face, and even though it existed only for a moment, Vedder caught that expression in an instant.    "She's my wife."

 "Your wife?"

Vedder was a little surprised at his answer. He looked at the picture carefully, but Jacob soon covered it with his hand, as if he were protecting an invaluable treasure.

Vedder sighed and said, "Mr. Jacob, I didn't mean to stare at your wife's picture. I was just a little surprised, because I recently met someone who looked a lot like your wife. Maybe they're related. Who knows?"

"What did you say?" Jacob's head was sent reeling backwards. He wasn't sure whether he had heard Vedder properly. Intrigued, he widened his eyes, while his voice trembled, "Please say that again."

Vedder was also intrigued to see this side of Jacob. This was a rare occasion, indeed. He repeated his own words.    "I said I recently met someone who looked a lot like your wife. Maybe..." Jacob jumped with anticipation. "What's her name?"

"Well..." Vedder scratched the back of his head and answered with embarrassment, "I forgot her full name, but I know her last name is Lu."

Jacob stood up as soon as Vedder finished his sentence. He could not control himself anymore, and he exclaimed, "Lu? Are you sure that her last name is Lu?"

"No! She's not!" Jacob answered word by word, "She's my wife!"

Dumbfounded by his words, Vedder said, "You must be kidding, right? The girl I am talking about is only fifteen or sixteen years old. How could she be your wife?   Your wife looked like around twenty five in this picture."

"Fifteen or sixteen?" Jacob's light diminished when he heard this. 'Did Sean find another girl who looks like Emily, to be his sister?' he wondered.

Judging from Jacob's reaction, Vedder guessed that there was more to this story than what he saw. So Vedder casually mentioned, "You know, come to think of it, that Miss Lu once told me that she saw a man who was more good-looking than I am, in Z country. I'd like to offer my apology for what I am about to say next. As long as I see you, I'm reminded of what Miss Lu told me. And I have a strange feeling that you are the one Miss Lu was talking about. Is that ridiculous?"

Jacob's heart thumped in chest, but he regained his mask of calmness. He answered, "My wife passed away half a year ago. But now I am starting to think that she's been alive all this time. I'm going to need your help, Mr. Vedder. And you can ask for anything you want in return. You have my word. What do you think?"

Vedder smiled, and he asked out of curiosity, "Mr. Jacob, what's the story between you and Miss Lu?"

"That is none of your business,"  Jacob answered indifferently, as was expected of him. His cold reputation kept everyone away from him.

"Okay!" Vedder shrugged and rolled his eyes. He gave a charming smile and continued, "Now, let's talk about the deal."

 In D Country

Emily was regaining her, or to be more accurate, Cloris' memory, at a remarkable speed, but Sean altered some of her memories. He only kept the memories that would help his cause and deleted the bits where she resented him.
Emily was making good progress. Although she stopped acting like a child, she could still be a little naive sometimes.

The sun shone bright that morning and ignited the colors of the room.

Sean walked into Emily's room silently and gave her a gentle kiss to wake her up.

"Sean?" Emily said in a daze. When she opened her eyes, she was greeted by his handsome face, before she slowly got up.

Sean pushed a few strands of hair behind her ears with his fingers and helped her up. When Emily sat on the bed, he slowly said, "Did you get a good sleep?"

"Yes,"  Emily answered, as she rubbed her eyes and yawned.

Sean, kneeling on one knee, held her delicate ankle in his big hand and slowly give her a kiss on her pretty foot. "Good morning, my princess,"  he said.

Emily gave him a gentle nudge on the shoulder because she felt shy. Her cheeks blushed red and she muttered, "Sean, don't... don't do that. I'm not a child anymore. I've regained my memory."

"No matter how old you are, you are always my princess." Sean tried his best to be a good brother to her. He had learnt the lesson, so he would never show her his love beyond the line of a brother fearing that Emily would run away from him like Cloris did in the past.

This situation was good for him anyway.
He could be intimate with her as a brother. It was only natural for a brother to take care his sister and protect her from the cruel world.

Ever since Emily regained her memory, Sean seemed more like a weirdo brother to Emily. The way he talked to her gave her goosebumps, but Sean hadn't sensed this yet.

"Well, I'll allow you to be my knight."

Sean gave her a gentle smile. He placed left hand on the right side of his chest, and said, "It would be my pleasure, your highness."

Meanwhile, Jacob finally arrived in D Country.

As per their agreement, Vedder hid Jacob in his house and he didn't tell anybody who Jacob was so that Sean wouldn't know that he was there. Then Vedder would help Jacob to make contact with Miss Lu.

Jacob couldn't contain his anticipation before he came to D Country.

There was a high chance that he would go back with disappointment, but it was a shot worth taking. Miss Lu could turn out to be just a girl whose face was similar to Emily's. After all, Sean loved Emily so much. It would not surprise Jacob if Sean found another girl to replace Emily as his sister, Cloris.

However, even though it seemed like a long shot, there was only one way to settle this matter permanently.

When Vedder talked about Miss Lu, Jacob knew that she could not be Emily because Miss Lu was only about fifteen years old. Regardless of that, his heart told him that perhaps this person had some relation with Emily.

The voice in his heart told Jacob to go to see this Miss Lu and to fall in love with her.

Jacob knew well that he wasn't thinking logically but he decided to follow his heart. Moreover, it wasn't like he had anything to lose.

He needed to see this Miss Lu in person, to see whether she was the woman he loved the most.

Neither Sean nor Emily was in the villa.

Only the maids were there to do the cleaning duties. Jacob, who lived in Vedder's house next to the Sean's villa, easily got inside by jumping over the wall.

The entire place carried the scent of that girl.

The moment he stepped inside the house, his heart thumped inside his chest, as if his uncontrolled emotion was begging to be released.

Jacob's intuition told him that the faint aroma he was smelling was Emily's.

Although he had not even seen the girl yet, there was a voice in his head filling him up with all sorts of ideas.

The voice told that this girl was the one he had been longing for.

No other person in the world could make Jacob's heart race at such tremendous speeds.

Jacob knew he had to see this girl in person no matter what it cost.
