 Season 7

Episode 26

(Discharging violet from the hospital (3)

"Okay, I will meet up with Alice at school,"  Violet said sounding a little disappointed, wanting Alice to ride into school with her like they usually did.

At that moment, Jackson and Lawrence entered the dining room.

"Good morning, Dad,"  Violet said back to smiling happily.

"Good morning, my sweetheart,"  greeted Jackson. He gazed at Violet, her radiant smile warming his heart.

The four sat together enjoying breakfast and in high spirits. Even though Cherry and Jackson didn't talk much during breakfast, big broad smiles made their satisfaction evident.

After they finished breakfast, Bill drove Lawrence to school.

While Jackson and Cherry waited for Violet in the living room, she dashed upstairs to get her school bag.

"Honey, I'll meet you at the JC Group offices after I take Violet to school,"  Cherry told Jackson.

"That sounds good. I have been so busy worrying about Violet, and I need to catch up with business. Between the business matters here and projects in Hong Kong, I'm swamped,"  Jackson frowned, and there was a flash of concern in his eyes. 'There are so many things to attend to, including Lawrence going abroad to school. Everything needs to be handled now, ' he said silently.

Taking Jackson's hand, Cherry looked at him tenderly and said,"There is nothing we can't solve together. Now that our children's problems are settled, we don't need to worry about them. All we need to do is focus on business matters. We will figure things out."

Listening to Cherry's motivating words, Jackson thought nothing was too difficult to solve, 'As long as she stands by me, I can fix anything, ' he reminded himself.

Holding Cherry against his chest, Jackson gazed down with an affectionate look and agreed,"Yes, you are right."

When Violet got back downstairs, she saw Cherry in Jackson's arms. She pretended to cover her face with her hand while peeking through her fingers.

As she walked passed them, she said cheekily,"I see nothing. You two continue. I will wait for you in the car, Mom."

Violet giggled as she walked to the door. Hearing Violet, Cherry wriggled out of Jackson's arms, and looked up in time to see her disappear out the front door and murmured,"Violet..."

Jackson smiled casually, and said,"Go, take her to school. I got in touch with her headmaster, and her absences are all excused."

"Alright, I will see you at the office in a little while then,"  Cherry said grabbing her handbag on her way out the door.

Cherry waved her arm acknowledging her husband as she went out of view.     As she parked, Cherry caught sight of Amy's car parked already.

"Look, Mom! Alice is over there!" exclaimed Violet excitedly. When she spotted Alice standing at the school gate, her eyes brightened with delight.

"I see her. Let's go over to her,"  suggested Cherry.

Amy saw Cherry and took Alice's hand as they strode towards Cherry's car.

"Good morning, Aunt Amy,"  Violet said cheerfully.

Alice broke free from her mother's grasp and ran to Violet, took her hand while the two girls smiled at each other.

Seeing the girls happy had Cherry and Amy smiling too. 'They are such close friends, ' they thought contentedly.

"Mom, Aunt Amy, we're going inside now, before we are marked late,"  announced Violet.

"Okay. Have a great day, and study hard,"  said Cherry.

"We will. Goodbye, Mom. Bye Aunt Cherry,"  Alice replied meekly, as she waved her hand in the air and she walked toward the school entrance with Violet.

Cherry waited until the girls were in the building before turning to Amy and proposing,"Amy, I can pick Alice up and bring her home in the afternoon if you don't have time to pick her up."

"Thank you, I do happen to have a class this afternoon,"  replied Amy.

"There's no need to be so formal, we're good friends, Amy. Besides, it's no big deal,"  Cherry said smiling cordially.

Grasping Cherry's hand, Amy offered Cherry her heartfelt comfort saying,"Cherry, Violet is looking much better. You and Jackson don't need to worry about her. Also, I asked Alice to spend more time playing with Violet.

With Alice's company, I think Violet will be fine."

Amy's words comforted Cherry. Despite this, she was concerned, and she thought, 'Violet acts as if nothing had happened and happy, but, I'm not sure if she's recovered from the incident. She could be hiding her pain. After all, she and her brother are obedient, and they don't want to worry us. I know they keep their troubles to themselves. How could I not worry about her?'

 "Okay,"  agreed Cherry.

"Well, then,"  Amy said glancing at her watch,"I gotta get going now. I have a class. Are you going home?"

"I am going to the JC Group to help Jackson deal with some matters. He has lots of work to catch up on,"  replied Cherry.

"Alright then, keep in touch, bye!" Amy said.

After the two said their goodbyes and parted, Cherry headed straight to the JC Group.

Advertisements for the JC Group could be seen everywhere in the city. They ranged from screens above the crossroads to advertising boards at shopping malls, or on subways. Over the last few years, the JC Group expanded business to include mass media.

Nowadays, the group's entertainment clubs had steady growth. Alongside the entertainment, there were significant improvements in the media sector. The JC Group headquarters were located in a skyscraper at the southernmost point of the city. Whereas JC's bars, entertainment clubs, golf courses, and tea cafes were scattered throughout the entire city. At night, the JC Group's name was lit up in neon red lights and could be spotted throughout half the city. The JC Group left a deep impression on the people living in this city.

Cherry parked her car in the VIP parking at the JC Group's parking lot.

Getting into the elevator, Cherry rode it up to Jackson's office. When the elevator doors opened, she saw a familiar figure.

Susan had just finished briefing Jackson. Her arms were full of papers, and she was leaving when she saw Cherry headed towards her.
