( Desperation Leads to Inspiration (9)

Huo Mian looked around, chuckled, and said, “I am going to run away with Qin Chu.”

“Damn, what kind of strategy is that? Didn’t we talk about it before?” Zhu Lingling complained.

“Do you mean ‘run away’ as in breaking him out, or the medical parole after his sentence?” Jiang Xiaowei’s question was more logical than Zhu Lingling’s.

“Same thing, we’re running away anyways.” Huo Mian smiled.

“There’s a big difference, it’s a serious crime to break someone out of prison. You’ll be on the wanted list forever and have to worry about being caught no matter where you go… It’s much safer to go down the medical parole route… Mr. Qin’s reputation may be harmed, but he’ll live out the rest of his days without worry. A lot of corrupt politicians do this. On the surface, they’re in jail, but they’re arranged to receive medical treatment abroad. When they come back in a year completely changed, nobody would know. To be blunt, nobody would notice if he gets plastic surgery in Korea,” Jiang Xiaowei said. She always thought of everything and lived up to her status as a doctor of psychology.

Wei Liao agreed with his wife’s viewpoint and said, “Xiaowei’s point is valid. Huo Mian, think it through, don’t be impulsive.”

“Other cases might work with medical parole, but Qin Chu’s involved with a murder case… He’s accused of murdering Mayor Song’s daughter. I think that Mayor Song’s going to watch it closely and not let him slip away so easily,” Gao Ran said with a deep voice. He paid attention to the case at the bureau every day, so he knew the case the most out of anyone there.

At that moment, Su Yu slowly said, “Don’t worry, leave it to me. I have a way.”

Tang Chuan patted Su Yu’s shoulder. “He said it himself. Rest assured, he’ll get it done… Come, let’s drink.”

Everyone knew that Su Yu could probably do it with the Su Family’s power.

If the Su Family couldn’t help someone, nobody else could.

So, what Su Yu said held a lot of weight.

“Yep, Mr. Tang’s right. Let’s drink, don’t worry about it.” Huo Mian smiled.

“Mian… I heard that Qin Chu’s uncle came back?” Zhu Lingling asked when they were chatting.

“Mhm, and Qin Ning came back too… She can help me take care of my father-in-law at the hospital, so I don’t have to worry about it as much.”

“Qin Ning? She’s Chu’s cousin, is she? Is she pretty? Can you introduce her to me?” Tang Chuan interrupted.

“She’s just nineteen, let my cousin-in-law go, will you?” Huo Mian chuckled.

Seeing her relaxed expression made the others rest easy…

Everybody ate and drank. Chen Jie was quite shy and didn’t talk much, and Ni Yang took care of her by putting food in her plate.

During the meal, Huo Mian rose and got seconds from the kitchen…

Tang Chuan was getting rice, and as soon as she stepped in, he followed.

“Eh? Do you want rice? I’ll help you.”

“No, no. I’ll help myself. I would never be polite to you,” Tang Chuan laughed.

Huo Mian smiled but remained silent…

“Huo Mian…”

“Actually, to be honest, I really didn’t like you before.”

“Oh, why do you hate me?” Huo Mian smiled.

It seemed like she had always known how Tang Chuan felt about her…
