SPOILED GIRL

SEASON 5

EPISODE 81

(What is money saved for wife)

Dylan sneaked into Beryl's room, holding a beautiful box in his hand, and closed the door sneakily like a thief.

Beryl was fast asleep with the curtains half drawn. Dylan dared not wake her up and he simply stood still at her bedside, staring intently at her sleeping face. The more he looked at her, the more beautiful she seemed to become in his eyes. To Dylan, Beryl was like an exquisite doll in a shop window, more expensive than any other one.

Beryl seemed to sense someone was in the room and turned over. As soon as she opened her eyes, she saw Dylan's small face which made her angry at once. But before she could push him, Dylan hemmed and hawed, trying to express himself.

"Beryl, I've come to apologize to you. I didn't know you were afraid... Well, that..."

"It's fine. It doesn't matter." Beryl cast a glance at him, and replied with a calm expression, albeit in a sleepy voice, "I forgive you. Now you can go out."

She was thinking, 'This is not mine but Dylan's home, where I can not be too capricious. Although Aunt Rita and Uncle David are very kind to me, they are different from my parents. I must behave myself while I am staying over here.'

"Really?" Dylan grinned and automatically ignored her last sentence, "Beryl, I brought you something..."

Hearing that he had brought something again, Beryl was a little frightened and almost instantly remembered the "surprise" he had given her that very same day. It hadn't been a pleasant one and had only held fright for her.

Dylan, aware of her nervousness, quickly tried to explain, "No, no, no. Don't get me wrong. It's really some thing, not a small animal."

Then, putting the big box on the ground, he took out a small key from his pocket, and opened the little gold lock on the box. With a click, the box sprang open.

Colorful bills poured out with several gold coins among them.

"Look, this is some money I have saved. It can be used to buy lots of candies and beautiful skirts... Now it is all yours," said Dylan.

Beryl could clearly see that it was a lot of money. Her face took on a puzzled expression. "Why are you giving it to me?" she asked, confused.

"As compensation," Dylan answered shortly, as if it explained everything.

"I don't want your money."

"Then you are a liar."

Beryl got confused and protested, "But I'm not lying. I really don't want your money."

"Aren't you?" Dylan asked sadly, "The way I see it, if you refuse to accept my money, it means you refuse to forgive me."

"But..." Beryl tried to argue. She really didn't want any money.

"Is this much not enough for you?" Dylan asked with a sincere look, "In fact, I have saved enough money little by little in my older home. I will bring it all to you when I get back."

"I will not accept your money," Beryl replied firmly. "If you don't, I am going to cry," Dylan threatened.

Beryl really couldn't take it anymore. She wondered how Dylan could be so much more childish than her, even though she was actually the younger one. "Well, then, I'll take this. Will you be quiet then?" She accepted resignedly.

"Yes. I will be!" Dylan smiled happily and carried the money to bed as if it was a treasure. "This is the money I saved for my future wife. Now it is all yours."

Beryl could not understand him and asked, "What is money saved for wife?" Dylan didn't know much about it, but that didn't stop him from talking nonsense. "It is as important as my wife. I give you the most important things to show my sincerity."

"I see..." Beryl nodded but she still didn't really understand.

The two had finally made up.

Several years later, Beryl finally understood what "Money Saved For Wife" meant, But at that time it was too late for her to regret receiving that little boy's money saved for his wife...

However, this was the story for another day...

...

A hundred kilometers away from Jingshi City, after Magee created the false death accident for Emily, he just let her rest for several days before agreeing to go with her to find Jacob's whereabouts.

"The River into which Jacob fell stretches to the Fishing City and joins the sea. It's likely that he would get washed here by the current and was rescued." Magee told Emily the result of his analysis, "And the searchers I sent out did find his trace here."

Emily's eyes were bright and glowed with a look never seen before. "How sure are you about this?"

Magee was shaked by her eyes and murmured, "Seventy to eighty percent. If he really wasn't here, he would have been washed into the sea."

The odds of seventy to eighty percent were already very high.

But Emily was still not assured, "He will be all right."

Magee didn't know what to say, but only answered "Hmm". Since he had decided to help Emily, he just wanted to help her to the end.

They entered a large mountain forest that was like a labyrinth, throughout which they found several hidden villages.

Magee suspected that Jacob was saved by people in the mountain village. So he and Emily tried to find out the village.

Since there were many wild animals in the forest, therefore, this time, he had brought many bodyguards.

Emily's physical strength was not good and the company slowed themselves down to accommodate her pace.

Although Emily was extremely tired, she still grinded her teeth and insisted on finding her lover at the earliest.

Magee cared about her physical condition and tried to reason with her, "Emily, you should stop and get some rest."

Emily shook her head with a pale face. "It's all right. I'm not tired," she insisted.

Suddenly, for some reason, Magee started to feel really upset right at that moment. "If you try so hard, I'm afraid you'll die of exhaustion before you find Jacob." He tried to reason with her again.

Emily remained silent, neither speaking nor making any other sound.

Magee went straight towards her and wanted to pick her up. However, Emily perceived his intention and stepped back several steps at once, then stepping on a stone, which made her lose her balance and sprain her ankle directly.

"Ah..." Emily cried in a low and painful voice. The pain in her feet had made her unable to stand.

"What do you take me for?" Magee protested. This time though, he successfully picked her up and sighed slightly. "Why were you running away from me? You had to land in my arms in the end, didn't you?"

The last sentence seemed to be a little romantic, and Emily could not help struggling, "No, don't hold me. I can walk myself."

"How do you propose on moving forward? Jump? That might make you sprain the other ankle." Magee stopped his bodyguards for a rest, then put Emily on a clean big stone. "Now, I'm not your trustworthy person yet?" he asked.

Emily knew it was impossible to move on since she was hurt. She had to compromise and rest. "I don't know," she answered.

Magee felt kind of uncomfortable after hearing her answer. He had done so many things for Emily, but she still did not trust him completely.

'What did I do all this for?

It's really...' thought Magee. He didn't know how to describe how he felt at the moment. He felt he was so low and silly for having promised to help this woman.

The accompanying doctor quickly came to take care of Emily, and told her, "Miss, it's better for you to rest more and walk less, otherwise the situation will most probably get worse."

Emily frowned immediately. She thought in her mind, 'Rest?

How can I rest? I have to find Jacob as soon as possible.'

Looking at her expression, Magee knew what she was thinking, and he told her coldly, "I don't want to take care of the disabled all the way."

As soon as he spoke, he felt that his words had been a bit too harsh, but it was impossible to withdraw them now.

He could only relax his attitude a little and try to persuade her softly, "If Jacob was really saved, we would not need to be in a hurry, would we?"
