(I believe you(1)

Jackson pondered over Mond's words. 'I understand how he feels. The first time I met Cherry, I was willing to marry her and be with her forever because of her irresistible charm.'

"Mond, she is mine," Jackson stated resolutely.

"I know that," Mond snapped. "That's why I hate you. Why do you get to own so many things? Born in the affluential Chu Family, you had an indulgent grandpa and then a lovely wife. When I finally saw your son, I resented you even more strongly. He is an adorable child with a pleasing disposition.

You know what? He thanked me today! And he even called me 'uncle'," Mond told Jackson, trembling with emotion. Joe calling him uncle had touched his heart. It was the first time such an innocent had referred to him in such a kind way. He had never considered emotions and connections between people like that before.

In Mond's world, there was only what you were interested in and how you could use someone to get it. He had never believed in kinship or friendship. But today, that kid had called him uncle, in a wonderfully compassionate way, and had even shown gratitude towards Mond.

Jackson wasn't sure how to respond. He knew his son was polite and well-bred. 'My wife has been teaching him to be a good boy. I've no doubt that he would behave well in Mond's house. Now that Mond has been emotionally moved by my boy, this proves that he isn't an apathetic and ruthless man. He still has feelings, albeit ones hidden in a corner of his heart from all his suffering and hardships, ' he thought to himself.

"Hmm, perhaps I'm stealing your happiness, Jackson," Mond gloated when the other man didn't respond. Before Jackson could say anything, Mond hung up the phone.

Jackson remained seated on the lounge, grasping his phone firmly. All he could see in his mind's eye was Cherry: her face, her smile, her obedient looks and stern expressions.

Finally, Jackson decided to go to her. He stood, took his coat and grabbed his car keys from the tea table before leaving.

Running red lights the entire way, he finally parked within sight of Mond's villa, but out of sight of any occupants of the villa. He dialled Cherry's number while staring at the building.

Laying on the bed, Cherry watched her now sleeping son. With him by her side, her heart was warm with happiness. Her phone began to ring, and she answered it quickly to avoid waking Joe. She glanced at the caller ID and saw it was her husband.
"My sweetheart," Jackson breathed affectionately.

"Hold on," Cherry whispered, checking on her still sleeping son.

She gently got out of bed, pulled her coat over her arm and left the room.

"It's late. What's going on?" Cherry asked, walking to the hallway.

"Is Joe asleep?" Jackson asked, concern touching his tone. 'She must have been with our son when she asked me to hold on, ' he thought.

Cherry nodded. "Yes, he's asleep," she confirmed calmly. Why Jackson was calling her at this hour escaped her.

"Honey, come outside. I'm at the gate of the villa, and you'll be able to see me once you're outside. I want to see your face," he pleaded softly. 'I've missed this woman dearly and I want to show her the affection and tenderness I haven't been able to, ' he thought to himself.

"Where did you say you were?" Cherry asked in disbelief. 'Jackson said he was in front of the villa. Did he mean...? Is he outside Mond's villa?' she wondered silently.

Sighing, he decided to keep pleading. "I'm outside the villa. The one you're in now. Come on, I miss you so much. I want to see you now. I feel so lonely without your company," he told her. 'I am dying to see her, and she's driving me crazy with her absence.'

Cherry approached the window gingerly and gazed down at the outside gate.

There was a car there, unmistakably Jackson's. 'He's right there. He's really here, ' Cherry's heart began to beat faster and faster with excitement.

'I miss him too.'

."Dear, come to see me, will you? I just want to see your face. It won't take long," Jackson continued when Cherry stayed silent.

His words convinced her. "Just a moment. I just have to put on my coat," she agreed at last.

Jackson let out a breath he hadn't realised he was holding. "Got it," he responded gladly.

Hanging up the phone, Cherry put her thick cotton coat on. Once she was pleasantly warm, she left the villa.

As soon as he saw his beautiful wife leaving the villa's front door, Jackson climbed out of his car and leaned against it, waiting for her to get to him. Cherry walked up to her husband slowly and stopped in front of him, looking at him wordlessly in the dim light.

"What are you doing here?" she asked. Before she could say anything else, Jackson took her by the arm and held her tight to his chest.

He put his finger under her chin to pull her face towards his and kissed her deeply. 'She is my woman and she belongs totally to me, ' he thought, engrossed in the embrace.

Overwhelmed by his overbearing and affectionate kiss, Cherry pushed on his chest with her hands to try and pull him away. Jackson snaked his arm around her waist tightly and she couldn't move.

He broke their kiss and held her even closer to his chest.

Cherry caught her breath now that he had stopped kissing her. 'He is still just as domineering as before.'

"Babe, I missed you so much," Jackson whispered affectionately into her ear.

She pushed hard and gave him several heavy blows before complaining at him, "Can you not do this again? "Without my permission you" -

The moment she locked eyes with Jackson, she broke her sentence off. He was fixing his eyes on her, as though she was his prey. "You're mine," he retorted. "I can do whatever I want to you."

"Can't you be less bossy? Is that why you came to me at midnight?" she asked.
Cherry worked to keep herself sober-minded. She often enjoyed his bullying love, but she dared not indulge herself in it now.

"What do you think?" Jackson deflected. 'I'm curious to hear what she thinks, ' he thought.

Glancing towards the villa, she considered. "If you worry about Joe, I can tell you he's fine. I will take care of him," she reassured him.

"What if I worry about you?" Jackson asked, slyly smiling.

"I'm an adult, and I can handle myself. "Besides, Jean and Mond have been good to me. Jean has been helping me a lot, and keeping me company." Cherry felt a metaphorical weight off her chest. 'I feel better, having told him about my recent daily life.'

He blinked, "That's it? Do you know how miserable I've been these past few days without you?" Jackson asked pitifully. "Sweetheart, when will you come back home?"

"Not for several days more. I'm not ready yet," Cherry shook her head.

Cherry scowled and Jackson scrunched his face in worry. "Did anything happen to you?"

Looking into his eyes, she could see his worry. 'I can't let him know I'm pregnant.

Not yet. What I have to do is more important. Besides, I have no plan for the future. I'd rather keep it to myself, until I find it in my heart to forgive him.'

Thinking that through, she gave her simple answer to the question. "I'm fine," she reassured him. "If there is something happening to me, you'd know it. Wouldn't you?" 'He's always cared so much for me. He knows me well and I know I can trust him.' Cherry said to herself silently.
"Good," Jackson sighed in relief. He stroked Cherry's face lightly. "Honey, if you meet any trouble, just let me know and I'll handle it," he reassured her gently. "I will protect you. All I want is for you and our son to live happily."

As he spoke, Cherry raised her head to look directly into his eyes. 'His eyes will never lie. I remember every word he said to me, and I believe his words. No matter what happens, I will have faith in him, ' she promised herself silently.

"I know, " Cherry said softly. "But honey, " she continued meekly, "can you give me some time? I need to fix myself. When I'm ready, I'll return home.

"I've been getting along better with Jean, especially now that she lives here. I want to spend some more time staying with her."

The mention of Jean gave Jackson a concerned look on his face.
