Season 10

Episode 88

(She Had Always Been So Strong (9)

“Mian, don’t worry, Qin Chu’s fine, he’s in the ICU next to yours.”

“I have to go see him.” Huo Mian got up.

“But… you’re still weak and shouldn’t be walking around. Girl, trust me, I would never lie to you, Qin Chu is really fine.” Zhu Lingling knew that Huo Mian was worried they would trick her, that was why she was in a hurry to make sure that he was actually in his room…

“Lingling, I need to see him with my own eyes.” Huo Mian’s eyes swimming with tears as she said in agony.

“Okay, okay, don’t cry. I’ll take you to him, but let’s make a deal. You need to come back as soon as you see him, okay?” Zhu Lingling said.

Huo Mian nodded her head… Then, Zhu Lingling helped her up, and the two of them slowly walked towards his room…

No one was outside Qin Chu’s room right now; he was still in critical condition, so his parents couldn’t go in either. The Qin Family went out for food, so Zhu Lingling took this opportunity to take Huo Mian to see him.

Huo Mian pried on the large glass window and looked at Qin Chu from outside…

Qin Chu lied there quietly, with tubes all over his body; he was much more injured than she was.

Huo Mian looked at him, and tears began falling down her cheeks uncontrollably…

“Girl, don’t cry, you haven’t recovered yet. You need to take care of yourself before you can take care of Qin Chu,” Zhu Lingling said as she gently patted Huo Mian’s back in consolation.

Huo Mian, on the other hand, continued to cry quietly…

They stood outside for 5 minutes; upon seeing that her legs were shaking, Zhu Lingling knew Huo Mian didn’t have any strength left in her, so she said, “Hey, let’s head back, you haven’t eaten yet. Rest for a while, and let’s come back later.”

Huo Mian didn’t struggle; she looked at Qin Chu longingly and then turned around to head back to her own room…

Just then, they bumped into Mrs. Qin and Song Yishi, who had just came back from eating.

“I’m curious, why is my son so seriously injured, but you seem fine?” Mrs. Qin glared icily at Huo Mian.

“Mrs. Qin… Huo Mian’s already heartbroken, and she’s sustained serious injuries as well, okay? Is it really the time to place wrongful blame on her.” Zhu Lingling looked at Mrs. Qin furiously.

“Huo Mian, are you okay?” Song Yishi’s arm was around Mrs. Qin’s as she asked her gently.

Huo Mian took one glance at them; then, without speaking, she and Zhu Lingling headed straight back to her room.

“Look at that, I can’t believe you would even talk to her. How uneducated is she? She won’t even take…” Mrs. Qin cursed.

“It’s okay. Huo Mian’s not feeling well, so it’s natural for her to be in a bad mood. I won’t mind.”

“Yishi… you’re just too kind,” Mrs. Qin complained as the two of them walked up to Qin Chu’s room.

Upon returning to her room, Huo Mian had calmed down quite a bit.

She took out a tissue, wiped off her tears, and sat down on her bed.

The nurse came in to take her temperature and insert her IV, to which she cooperated obediently.

“Dr. Huo, get some rest, don’t think too much,” the nurse reminded her.

Huo Mian nodded…

“Girl, do you want plain congee? What about eggs?”

“Sure.” Huo Mian nodded.

Zhu Lingling slowly fed Huo Mian food, and Huo Mian took big bites as if she had a hearty appetite.

Upon seeing her spirits lift a little, Zhu Lingling let out a sigh of relief.

After she ate, Huo Mian looked at Zhu Lingling. “Lingling, please, I want to see Qin Chu’s lead surgeon.”

“Huh? Why?” Zhu Lingling was confused.

“Please, ask him to come here, I need to talk to him.” Huo Mian’s expression was as calm as ever.

It seemed like she was already back to normal…

“Okay, wait for me then.” Zhu Lingling didn’t know what Huo Mian wanted to do; she assumed that the latter was curious about Qin Chu’s conditions, so she didn’t think too much and immediately went to look for Qin Chu’s lead surgeon.

Since the lead surgeon was Huo Mian’s colleague at South Side, he quickly went up to Huo Mian’s room.

“Dr. Huo, you were looking for me?”

“Dr. Xu, how’s my husband? You don’t have to hide anything from me, just tell me the truth,” Huo Mian said as she calmly looked at Qin Chu’s lead surgeon.
