Season 8

Episode 4

(A Different Kind of Challenge (5)

Huo Mian held up her bandaged hands to shyly cover her face…

Qin Chu smiled. After he took all her clothes off, he carefully placed her into a bathtub full of warm water.

He picked up a bath lily, squeezed some body wash onto it, and began slowly washing her body…

He wasn’t doing it out of lust and desire; he was no more than a husband who was lovingly tending to his wife.

Qin Chu patiently washed Huo Mian’s body, like he was taking care of a child.

Small changes, however, began happening to Huo Mian’s body…

When Qin Chu’s fingers glided past her skin, she felt like a million bugs were crawling somewhere deep within her.

Her face became ruddier the more she thought about it…

“Honey, what are you thinking about?” Qin Chu asked calmly as he washed her pearly skin.

“Nothing,” Huo Mian denied all insinuations.

“Then why is your face so red?”

“Maybe it’s too hot… It’s so stuffy in here.” Huo Mian looked for an excuse.

“Really…? The temperature in the bathroom is 20 degrees, even I’m a little cold. Are you sure you’re still hot?” Qin Chu couldn’t help but laugh.

“What do you know? Men and women have different body structures… your blood circulates slower than mine, so you’re not as sensitive to hot or cold. Female metabolism is faster, and that’s why men age faster than women…”

Huo Mian’s expert knowledge seemed to make a lot of sense.

However, Qin Chu couldn’t help but burst into laughter…

“What are you laughing about?” Confused, Huo Mian looked at Qin Chu.

“Honey… did you forget that I used to study medicine too? I can’t believe you would try to dupe me with medical knowledge…”

“Um…” Only then did Huo Mian remember this fact; why did she do that?

Mr. Qin was an MD who graduated from the most renowned medical school in the world… of course he knew about this stuff.

“People say that a husband who doesn’t save his wife’s face isn’t a good husband.”

“So?” Qin Chu continued to ask.

“So… if you want to be a good husband, then some things are better left unsaid. Just play dumb.”

“Okay, honey, you win… you’re so thick-skinned…”

Huo Mian laughed hysterically and raised her hand to hit Qin Chu’s head…

However, as soon as she raised it, she immediately yelped in pain…

“Ah… it hurts.”

“I told you not to move.”

“Honey… do you need to work later?”

“Then can we…?” Huo Mian looked down shyly before she finished.

She couldn’t, she really couldn’t get the rest of that sentence out of her mouth…

“Can we what?”

“Oh… nothing… I was wondering if we could watch TV for a bit before we go to bed.”

“No, we can’t. You’re injured and need to get some rest,” Qin Chu immediately refused.

“Okay then.”

– 40 minutes later –

Qin Chu carried Huo Mian out from the bathtub and wrapped a giant towel around her body.

Then, he picked out a white silk sleep dress from the closet and carefully put it on Huo Mian.

Then, Qin Chu went back in to shower. When he came out, he climbed up the bed and snuggled up to Huo Mian.

“Aren’t you going to sleep?” Qin Chu noticed Huo Mian’s uneven breathing.

“Um… it’s too stuffy in here.” Huo Mian kept thinking about that stuff and was obviously in no mood to sleep.

Aren’t… men supposed to bring up the topic of… sex?

But her husband was so calm and collected tonight…

Huo Mian struggled… how was she supposed to tell him?

Would she seem too upfront if she just told that she wanted to do it with him?

“Honey… do you want to do it?” Qin Chu noticed her struggle and asked.

“Ahem… no.”

“I’m giving you one last chance, if you don’t tell me the truth, then I’m going to sleep…” Qin Chu teased her on purpose.

Upon seeing how serious Qin Chu was, Huo Mian thought about it for a few seconds.

Then, she bit down on her lips and said, “Honey, I was lying just now… I do.”

“Let’s go to bed, Honey, it’s late…”

“Screw you, Qin Chu…” Huo Mian was furious that he brushed her off like that.

Qin Chu couldn’t help but chuckle. Then, he turned around and pressed Huo Mian’s body under his own…
