Season 6

Episode 97

(It Was All a Ploy (7)

“Honey, I know that I’m wrong, please don’t torture me anymore. I don’t want to drink, I want to throw up…” Huo Mian pretended to cry.

Yet, Qin Chu didn’t buy into any of it…

She sat on the couch like a log, not daring to move or even drink coffee.

Qin Chu’s attention was on his phone. He was typing, seemingly busy…

She didn’t want things to stay that way. Huo Mian realized that she needed to think of a way to make her husband go easy on her.

Therefore, she placed her hands on her stomach and leaned back on the couch…

Qin Chu immediately ran up to her upon seeing her like that.

“Honey, what’s wrong?” Seeing Huo Mian in pain, Qin Chu became anxious.

“Honey, my stomach hurts…” Huo Mian furrowed her eyebrows and looked at him with puppy eyes.

“The alcohol probably burned your stomach. Let’s go to the hospital.” Qin Chu put on his jacket and carried Huo Mian in his arms.

“I don’t want to go to the hospital, just let me die in pain. My husband doesn’t love me anymore. He’s mad at me. There’s no point in living. Just let me die in pain…” Huo Mian pouted and complained.

Qin Chu looked down at Huo Mian with a complicated and heartbroken expression on his face…

“Huo Mian, did you know how worried I was about you, huh?” Qin Chu hadn’t called her by her full name in a while.

It seemed like he was really angry… no wonder his right eyelid kept on jumping this morning. Disaster indeed struck.

“I know,” Huo Mian pursed her lips and said quietly…

“Did you know that every time I hear that you’re at the police station, my heart…” Qin Chu paused before he finished his sentence.

His voice was trembling; Mr. Qin was a little agitated…

“I wouldn’t care, even if you beat someone half to death. But I’m worried that you’ll get hurt. You’ll never understand how I feel. I don’t have any requests when it comes to you. If you want to work at the hospital, I’ll let you. If you want to go somewhere, I’ll go with you. If you want to eat something, I’ll make it for you. But… can you please take care of yourself, for my sake? Huh?”

“Yes, I can…” Huo Mian answered quietly.

She lifted her hands, originally placed on her lap, and wrapped them around Qin Chu’s neck…

“Honey, it was an emergency. That scumbag was going to rape a colleague of mine, and if I didn’t do anything, he would’ve gotten his way with her. He used his power and authority to bully others, he… deserves it. He should’ve gone to hell,” Huo Mian said with indignation.

“So? You decided to play Robin Hood?”

“Um…” Huo Mian was speechless again.

“Do you know Taekwondo?”

Huo Mian shook her head.

“Do you know free-style fighting?”

Huo Mian shook her head again.

“Do you know martial arts?”

Again, Huo Mian shook her head…

“Then tell me, if you don’t know anything, what gave you the courage to try to save someone else? That person was drunk and had slow reflexes; if he wasn’t, he would’ve hurt you. At the end of the day, men are physically stronger than women,” Qin Chu said as he looked at her.

“At the time… I drank too, so I was impulsive. I didn’t even think that much.”

“Therefore… I told you not to drink alcohol, I knew that things happen to you when you drink. But, you still drank behind my back…”

“Honey, there’s a reason behind my drinking, I was just trying to help…” Huo Mian explained in a hurry.

Qin Chu looked away. “I don’t want to hear why, I only care about results.”

“The result is, I only sustained a tiny injury. I’m really fine.” Huo Mian shook her injured palm.

She then smiled shamelessly…

Qin Chu’s heart softened at the sight of her childish reaction

His expression became gentle again…

Seeing the change in Mr. Qin’s expression, Huo Mian immediately took it to the next level. She said coquettishly, “Honey, I’m really hungry, can we go get some food? I want Ah-Xin’s Ramen.”

Then, she moved her mouth closer up to Qin Chu and nuzzled his chin…

She looked adorable doing that…

She didn’t know how to be coquettish, so she was really cute and ditzy when she attempted it…
